The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) is committed to ensuring Whistler's workforce is not displaced during the Games. A Temporary Commercial Use Permit (TCUP) will impact Games-time accommodations in Whistler by allowing home owners to apply to rent their homes out to Games workforce. This is for homes not currently zoned Tourist Accommodation (TA) or Residential Tourist Accommodation (RTA). To determine your home's zoning please click here and search by your address. The RMOW is informing tenants and landlords of their rights and responsibilities, including their rights as they relate to the TCUP.
The process for applying for a TCUP includes five safeguards to ensure tenants are not pushed out of their rentals and that the application is legally allowable:
If you have questions about the TCUP please email: gamesinfo at whistler dot ca
Tenants are encouraged to contact either the B.C. Residential Tenancy Branch or the Tenants Rights Action Coalition if tenants feel they have been unfairly treated or evicted.
To report zoning infractions, residents should contact the RMOW Bylaw Department at 604-935-8280 or email bylawservice at whistler dot ca
