Food Services rookie commutes to work while living the dream

Crack of dawn, her alarm goes off and she rolls out of bed for the breakfast shift. While p acking up her bag for the day, she adds the Games Planner that her supervisor gave her, a warm change of clothes and some goodies for après starting right after her shift. She catches the Squamish to Whistler connector in Brackendale at 6:00 am, glad that it comes every 10 minutes during the AM rush . To compensate for potential delays in her commute, she weaned herself off her alarm's snooze button.

Chatting with a fellow commuter who went online to www.whistler2010.com last night, she learns that a surprise WhistlerLive! act (a legendary DJ) has been added to the après roster on the stage at Skiers Plaza. Stoked to hear this update, she'll have to jet straight down after her shift and find a meeting place with her friends to be right at the heart of the action.

She uses her Game Planner to write in a reminder to book a visit to the Health Clinic tomorrow after work to check out her knee? again. She's dying to burn a few laps around Lost Lake on her skinny skis, but needs to get the green light from the Doc. She's heard there's some Cultural Olympiad action at the Lake which should be a lot of fun to check out. Her friends from work met loads of visitors from around the world while they were checking out the snow carving.

Following the après show in the afternoon, her friend Maelle Ricker, who's competing in this weekend's Snowboard Half Pipe at Cypress, will be on the CTV stage in Mountain Square for an interview on the evening news. She's organized a cheering section to make some noise and brought red and white feather boas for the girls to draw the cameras over their way. She uses her phone to send out a Tweet and get more people to come on out and join in the fun. It'll be a long day but she can catch up on her sleep during the commuter ride home later that night. They run 24/7 so no worries.
